Natural Helpers Program

What is it?

-An informational “helping network” of students who help their peers with everyday problems, refer serious problems to trained professionals, and take good care of themselves.

What do they do?

-Helpers are asked to participate in ongoing trainings to improve their helping skills. They work on specific situations with adult leaders and then make positive contributions to their schools and communities.

Each month focuses on a theme where a guest speaker will come in for a student training to equip them with information as to “Where to go and what to do next…” if a peer comes to them with an issue.

Meetings are held from 2:20pm – 3:15pm two times a month. If you are interested, there is a bulletin board across from the Counseling Center with meeting dates, times, and themes for each month.  This is a great opportunity to educate yourself and be a resource to others.

Thank you and we look forward to you becoming a Natural Helper!
