PCFC SPORTS 2008-09

Skyline SPORTS 2008-09

Fall Sports Registration will begin at PCFC (for 9th Graders)   August 14TH — 18th

9:00 am12:00 pm

 

Registration for Fall sports (grades10-12) will begin at Skyline

August 11th – 15th For Football Athletes

August 13th thru August 21st All other Sports-This includes Women’s Soccer

9:00am – 12:00pm

***To be eligible for first game, you must have participated in 10 Practices.  Plan your schedule now so you will be able to make each preseason training and ensure you are eligible.***

 

- First day of Tryouts: Monday, Aug 25 (Varsity/JV will be training on Labor Day, Sept 1st). 

New Tryout Times are 3-5pm for Varsity pool; 5-7pm for all others Aug 26th -27th

Teams will hopefully be selected by Thursday and will distribute practice schedules then.

            Varsity will have 2-a-day trainings after team is selected; Varsity & JV will practice Sat.

                                                                                                                              

Here’s how to get ready for the season: 

1. Exemplify Strong Core Qualities

-Eligibility and Strong Academic Standing – Be sure your paperwork is in on time so you do not miss any days of tryouts.  Make sure you finish this year with high grades so you do not begin 2007-2008 on A.P.  THIS SEMESTER’S GRADES DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY!   Students who have below a 2.0 G.P.A. or fail one or more classes will not be eligible unless they take summer school to improve their academic standing.

-Positive attitude and coachability - committed to the success of the team

- desire to learn and open to constructive feedback to improve

-Leadership qualities in the classroom, on the field, in the locker room, and around coaches

-Effort/Work habits, desire to win

-Respect for teammates, teachers, coaches, administrators, and referees

 

2. Exemplify Playing Qualities

-Overall technical skills (i.e. good first touch)

-Tactical skills - ability by position

-Fitness and strength

-Speed and quickness

-Play at pace – decision-making and skill under pressure

-Attitude – the desire to improve and learn

 

3. Get ready this summer!
