Beginning with the class of 2008, graduation requirements have changed in the State of Washington. To graduate, students must meet standard on the Washington Assessments of Student Learning (WASL) in reading, writing, and mathematics. (This applies to all students who entered the 9th grade after July 1 in 2004.) To take their WASL tests, 10th graders need be at school on time each morning of the testing window. This is not an optional test. All students graduating in the State of Washington must meet standard on the WASL exams to graduate from a high school in the State of Washington.
