Important Dates! Upcoming Events!

bulletLetters to Soldiers!  after the meeting on 12/5, stick around to write a letter and holiday card to send to soldiers serving overseas in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
bulletAdopt-a-Family:  We have adopted a family in the Issaquah school district.  Earn 2 hours for selecting a gift tag and purchasing a gift for the family.
bulletReturn unwrapped gifts No later than Wednesday,  Dec. 12!!
bulletYou may also earn 2 hours for purchasing a gift certificate for the family for:  Fred Meyer, Target, Safeway, or QFC
bulletWed. 12/12 (we need to confirm this date...):  Basketball tailgate activities--more info later.

 

Pay Ms. DeKruyf $10 for your T-shirt.  If you sign up for one, we WILL order it...so you will be expected to pay!!

Last year's styles (we pretty much have size M and maybe a few others...) are $5 again this year if you didn't get one last year!

A NEW style for this year is in the works--stay tuned!--it will probably be $10 for the new shirt.

bullet Fri. 9/28--Stadium clean-up after the home football game.  We need as many people as possible!  the more we get, the faster it goes! (1 hr.)
bulletSat. 9/29--Sort clothing to help the Harvest Festival--12-4 at the Church of Jesus Christ for Latter Day Saints on SE Duthie Hill road.(1-2 hr.)

Mon. 10/1--Decorate lunch bags for our Salmon Days fundraiser!  Meet in room 902 at 2:45 and bring your creative skills! (1 hr.)

Tues. 10/2--Pack-the-Rack Girls' soccer game:  Stadium clean-up after the game!  Support the team and clean up the mess at the end!(1 hr.)

Wed. 10/3--Make Spirit Halos after the meeting!(1 hr.)

Fri. 10/5--Sandwich/Lunch making for Salmon Days booth, approx. 2:30-4:30 PM (2 hrs)

Fri. 10/5--Homecoming parade (walk in it)  (1.5 hrs) and tailgate (work the booth to sell Halos) (up to 1.5 hrs)

Sun. 10/7--Salmon Days!  Selling sack lunches at a booth at Salmon Days  (varying, depending on shifts)

Friday, 10/12:  Kiwanis Ski and Sports Swap (at the Covenant Church (?) down the hill from SHS)

You will be assisting the Kiwanians with the set-up of the sports equipment and labeling things for them

2 shifts--5-7:30 and 7:30-9

Saturday, 10/13:  Kiwanis Ski and Sports Swap --> Multiple shifts; work with the sales (2-4 hrs)

Fri. 10/19--Stadium clean-up after the home football game.  We need as many people as possible!  The more we get, the faster it goes!  This is a fundraiser for the club. (1.5 hrs)

Fri. 10/19--sell halos ($1 each) at the football game...before and during 1st quarter. (1 hr)

Canned Food Drive!  Bring in canned food to help stock the Issaquah Food Bank.  10 cans = 1/2 hour of service.  Bring in as many cans as you'd like!  Drop them off in room 902 or bring to the meeting no later than 10/31

Unicef--Trick-or-Treat boxes--pick up a box at next week's meeting and collect coins between now and Halloween.  boxes must be turned in to room 902 by 11/7 or at the meeting on 11/7 (2 hrs (+1 for most $$))

Haunted House at Beaver Lake--ongoing this month...a calendar of events was passed out on 10/17.  Get a letter from the organizers that states how many hours you volunteer, turn it in to an advisor or an officer, and we'll honor those hours!  (?? hours...potentially a LOT)

bulletDues:  $25--pay Ms. DeKruyf by Oct. 30. !!
bulletT-Shirts:  Sign up for a size at next week's meeting, or e-mail the club.  Be sure to include your name and the desired size (S, M, L, XL) in your e-mail.
bulletSaturday, 12/1:  Holiday Bazaar-->multiple 2.5 hour shifts
bulletSaturday, 12/1:  Santa's Breakfast--> 2 shifts, 2 hours each
bulletFriday, 11/30:  Bazaar crafting-->construct holiday ornaments and do other preparations for the holiday bazaar (up to 3 hours)
bulletThursday, 11/29:  Pine cone ornament construction for the holiday bazaar (up to 2 hours)
bulletWednesday, 11/28:  construct handwarmers for the holiday bazaar (up to 2 hours)
bulletSewing handwarmer fleece:  At home project, 1-2 hours available to any who help sew.
bulletHandwarmer construction:  put together handwarmers for our donation to Tent City 4, which recently moved from Issaquah to Kirkland.  (2 hours)
bulletSaturday, 11/10:  Stadium clean-up after play-off football game  (2 hours)
