HWK: Suggested--brainstorm group's selected genre, associated iconography, overview storyline; exchange contact info & availability schedules with group; read pkt info & rubric.
Planning ahead:
  • overview of group "screenwriting project" due prior to Winter break;
  • Purchase, borrow, or check out:  Angelou, Maya.  I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. New York: Random House, 1970.*

Read Angelou's entire book for comprehension, synthesis of upcoming stereotyping/discrimination film unit prior to the semester final in early January, 2010.  This will be incorporated into the essay portion of your semester final.  Plan ahead per your personal schedule.     * NOTE:  Chapters 11 & 12 contain some graphic accounts of autobiographic occurrences of a sexual nature.  If you or your parent/guardian(s) choose for you to not  read these, please let me know.  I will excuse you from those portions and/or assign you an alternative literary book to read.
